Do You Know Why Plate Heat Exchangers Need to Be Passivated?

The dust removal process of a plate heat exchanger includes the following processes, which first require rinsing with clean water. Because we need to wash away the sediment first, the acid solution can have sufficient effect during pickling. It can also reduce the use of the computing industry. The pickling time is static soaking for 2 hours, followed by dynamic cycling for 3 to 4 hours. After pickling, if the pH value of the acid solution is greater than 2, it can be reused; The acidic solution needs to be diluted and neutralized before being discharged.

After acid cleaning, we need to clean it again with water because we need to wash away the salt water and acid washed dirt from the plate heat exchanger. After cleaning, the process we need to carry out will be passivated. Add an appropriate amount of passivation pre film agent to the circulation system, and control the pH value between 8-9 after uniform circulation. The amount of passivation pre film agent is calculated based on the circulating water volume of the cleaning agent. Add 10 kg of passivation pre film agent to 1 ton of water to form a passivation film on the metal surface.

Why passivation? After pickling, most of the oxide skin and metal oxides on the surface of the plate heat exchanger dissolve and fall off, exposing new metals that are easily corroded. Therefore, we need to passivate to maintain the plate heat exchanger to prevent further corrosion.
